Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a colorful mix of personalities, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, fiends, and malevolent powers increasing in power within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of heroes who will branch out from the main group to undertake their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (played by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering an extensive roster, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be unworkable.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before splitting into three distinct groups: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
As described by the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the party knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—used the foes for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each character has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, desires vengeance.
- Kattigan knows the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile place.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could help the group reach locations they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The fighter swore a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the city for a range of causes, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The rogue and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The warrior and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- Teor is marked for death by the family.
This means them few options but to travel to Timmony in quest for the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
According to the recent installment’s follow-up content, we discover that the Soldiers table will be absent next week, leaving the remaining eight cast members to round up the Explorers and Planners groups.
Audiences can expect finding out which players will be where in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, released on next week.
